Safeguarding Foundations – Online

Course

This course is the second core Safeguarding module aimed at all decision makers (e.g. PCC members and children’s workers)

Foundation is the second of the core Safeguarding training modules and should be completed by all decision-makers.

Completion of the Basic Awareness Course is a pre-requisite to this training.

Who should attend?

  • Anyone holding a licence, commission, authorisation, permission to officiate or permission to carry out similar ministerial functions (including Clergy, LLMs, PTOs, Chaplains and Elders)
  • Anyone in a role which involves working/volunteering with children (under 18 year olds) and/or adults at risk (vulnerable adults)
  • PCC Members
  • Churchwardens/Vergers
  • Leaders of group activities including Tower Captains and ringing teachers
  • Lay Chapter members and DBF Trustees
  • Pastoral Visitors
  • Spiritual Directors
  • MDR Reviewers
  • Members of the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel
  • Line managers and/or anyone involved in the recruitment, selection, appointment, management, of Church Officers (employees, elected members and volunteers)
  • Pre-ordination or -license students, prior to a Stage 1 or discernment panel
  • Anyone going on to complete a higher-level Church of England safeguarding course

Location/Duration

This training is an online module available from the National Safeguarding Portal and will last for one to one and a half hours.
