Online Safeguarding courses from the National Portal

Course

If you would prefer to do online training, you can access some safeguarding courses through the national portal, and complete your training at home. The courses they provide are:

  • Basic Awareness
  • Foundation
  • Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse
  • Safer Recruitment and People Management
  • Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

Just click the button on the left to access the portal.

Please note that this takes you to the Church of England’s national safeguarding website, so you will need to register and log in separately to the Insight website as they are not linked.

Please be aware that if you would like us to add your training done through the portal to your diocesan record, you will need to email us a copy of your certificate.

You will need to register the first time you use the portal but you can then use it for future training by logging in. You are able to access certificates of training you’ve done previously through the portal by clicking the button on the left and then navigating to ‘Training records and reports’, clicking on ‘Personal records’ then ‘View this badge’ This will give you a link to download your certificate.

Some courses are unavailable through the portal, including Safeguarding Leadership training.

If you would like to do any of these courses in-person, please book through Insight:

  1. Click on Safeguarding training to be taken to the safeguarding section of Insight
  2. On the blue bar, click on the course you are interested in: Basic Awareness, Foundation, Leadership or Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse
  3. Find the date and location most convenient to you and book your place!

If you have any questions about the training or the portal, please email the Safeguarding team.
