- Safeguarding Officers / Leads (e.g. PSOs)
- Anyone holding a licence, commission, authorisation, permission to officiate or permission to carry out similar ministerial functions (including Honorary/Assistant Bishops, Chaplains, Elders)
Completion of the Basic Awareness and Foundations courses is a pre-requisite to this training.
If you are doing this training for the first time, you will need to complete Basic Awareness and Foundation training prior to attending this course. When you are renewing safeguarding training, you are required to refresh the highest level for your role. Therefore if you have previously completed Basic Awareness, Foundation and Leadership training and this is your three-year renewal, you are only required to complete this Leadership training. We would recommend that you also refresh Basic Awareness and Foundation training every six years.
If you are unsure if this level of training is right for you, please check with your Parish/Benefice Safeguarding Officer or check this list.
The training consists of two sessions, one or two weeks apart. Both sessions are mandatory and by booking a place on the first session you are automatically booked onto the second session. Participation in both sessions is required in order to complete the course.
