Become a Children’s and Families’ Minister

A Children’s and Families’ Minister (CFM) works with young people alongside their church and community, journeying alongside to encourage discipleship. Many work as part of a Ministry team and are supported by the Incumbent. Children’s and Families” Ministers will have an enthusiasm for enabling inter-generational connections as a focus of any activity, and establishing creative ways to engage disciples of all ages.

Training

The Connect Children’s Ministry Essential course covers aspects of children’s and families’ ministry by exploring child development, spirituality and formation, new approaches to children’s and family ministry, and by expanding personal skills to enable participants to be visionary CFMs within the parish and across the Diocese. Successful completion of the course can lead to licensing as a CFM.

We run Connect as in-person course every year starting in January, or online starting in June. Details of the next courses are below.
