We are delighted to invite you to an Elders’ training and social morning!
As part of our two-year cycle of training and celebrating, we are holding an Elders training and social morning with special guest speakers from across the Diocese. We are also very pleased that our keynote speaker will be the Ven Dr David Jenkins, Archdeacon of Sudbury.
Programme
- 9.00 – 9.30am Registration, coffee will be available
- 9.30 – 9.45am Opening worship
- 9.45 – 10.15am Keynote address from Archdeacon David
- 10.15 – 10.30am Discussion
- 10.30 – 11.00am Coffee and cake
- 11.00am Workshops will begin; please choose either the pastoral or liturgical workshop when you register.
- 12.00pm Plenary session, followed by eating our lunch together.
The workshops
The workshops have been designed to help and resource you in your ministry, so please come along with your questions relating to these areas:
- The Revd Peter Goodridge, Rector of the Elmswell benefice, will be leading a workshop on creating and leading liturgy as an Elder in a ministry team.
- The Revd Mary Sokanovic, Rector of Whitton with Thurleston & Akenham, will be leading a workshop on being a pastoral Elder.

If you would like to bring a packed lunch, we will take the opportunity for further fellowship, conversation and social time together over lunch.
